The Ticket Security Update

Since the start of the pandemic we’ve had more than 200 ticketed shows and artists have earned more than $229,227. We’ve been listening to the needs of our artists, hosts, and audience members in order to build a platform that really meets their needs. Today, we announce a major milestone for our platform, total Zoom ticket security. No more shared ticket links. No more Zoombombers.

Total Zoom Ticket Security

  • Audience members will need to login to their Side Door user account in order to watch a show. We launched audience accounts in June.

  • Once a ticket has been claimed and activated by clicking “join show”, it can no longer be transferred to another user.

  • If a ticket transfer is attempted after activating, a note will show, “This ticket was used x minutes ago.”

  • Show links will no longer be emailed or available anywhere (no copying and pasting links!). Instead, we have “join show” buttons on the show page and in all communications to guests.

Audience members will navigate to the show page and click “join show”. No shareable links. No zoombombers!

Increased Support Messaging

Artists and show creators, this one is for you! We’ve added more support and resources throughout the online show booking process. Below is a quick look at just some of the additional messaging. As always, our team is always here to support you.

User Accounts for Audience Sign-In

On June 15th we announced user-accounts for audience sign-in. This was the first step towards additional ticket security and audience integration. Don’t forget, with our new ticket security features you’ll need a user account in order to access shows #BookedWithSideDoor.

Buying tickets for your friends? No worries, just purchase the number of tickets you need and then assign them by email.

This is what you’ll see when you’re logged in and purchase a ticket to a show. You can still purchase a ticket for a friend and send it using the “share tickets” button.

Email Opt-In

We’ve added an email “opt-in” for audience members to share their email addresses with artists!
