Canadian singer/songwriter Emily Jean Flack has been captivating audiences since childhood with a voice that is all her own. Fast forward two decades and she has toured internationally, performed at JUNOFest 2019 and released her debut EP Throwing Shapes. Emily has taken a life of creativity down an untravelled path, and her completely unique work is the result. Part contemporary folk, part Celtic pop with just a dash of jazz sensibility- she presents a genre defying sound that stands up to the lexicon of great Canadian solo artists. Emily hones her craft with an unbridled work ethic and passion, fuelled with an upbringing rich in tradition. Immersed in the Canadian celtic music scene, Emily’s music brings to life those traditional roots and stretches them into uncharted territory. At times, one could swear they were hearing influences from Patsy Cline to Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall to Alison Kraus. But that’s just it- every time you think there is a familiarity to her sound, it escapes you again; because it’s uniquely hers. Every once in a while, an artist comes along whose sound is self-liberated and unique. Emily Jean Flack is that artist.
